John Leguizamo, Karl Urban and Justin Long provide the voice talent in this 2013 CGI-animated family film from BBC Earth (and named for the company’s popular television series of the same name) about a Pachyrhinosaurus known simply as Patchi (Long) who must grow into adulthood and lead the heard to safety through numerous perils and threats.
Bringing modern-day human emotion to the lives of prehistoric animated dinosaurs, BAFTA-winning Scottish composer Paul Leonard-Morgan invokes a scintillating mixture of old and new, traditional and indigenous to give the on-screen Dinosaur world all the richness and flavor of real life. Bits and pieces of African and Gaelic folk music, American country-western and, of course, liberal doses of heartfelt traditional orchestral music find their way throughout Patchi’s remarkable journey. Standout tracks include “Dino Heaven,” “Migration,” “Riding the Rapids” and “Patchi the Hero.”
